Tips to Planning Your Event
This is a minature guide to help you plan a simple event. We have many events that we have to correct, but the staff does not have time to do this each and everyday. So, I am here to put that to an end tell you the key points you need for making an event.
1) You need to have a date
Having a date on your thread will be the most helpful for staff. Once your event is posted, our staff will go post it on our community calender, unless noted not to, and we will post it on the date you have required for us to post it on.
No Date = No Calender Entry = Sad Face
2) You need to have a time or time range AND time zone
Having a time is another thing we look for in the events. Without a time, or at least giving us a 'no-brainer' about the time will tell us when we need to be there.
For Example, if your Post says, "The event will be tomorrow. Hope you can all come!" that does tell us the date, but not the time. Please make sure you do include this as well.
Another thing we see is a lot forgetting the timezone. We don't wanna be late to an event, but how do we know its not 7 o'clock Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time? Please make sure to include this by your time somewhere, or we will get very confused and might end up missing that one event of yours!
3) You need to have a location
Location is another key thing. We can not read your mind and say, "Oh! I know where it is now!". No, that's now how our minds work. You need to supply a location of the event itself, or at least the meeting location. As long as you have that on there, we should be able to log in game and be there where you are.
4) Keep your thread updated or the Staff
This means you need to update on your thread saying your having your event tonight and your able to come. Many members like to plan out. Like for example, Today is June 26, 2012, and you are hosting an event a Month from today. We understand it takes time to plan some events, but keep updates on if you are going to continue with the event. The Staff will ask about 1-2 weeks before the event to see if you are still going on with it. If you are, it will continue to stay on the calender. If not, then it will be removed.
Always remember the #1 Important rule while Planning and Having these events...
It's to ...
HAVE FUN!!
